The team from Entre Ríos, on the other hand, competes in the Primera Nacional because they were relegated last season and in four games they still haven’t won and have three defeats and one loss. Boca Juniors vs. Patronato, Supercopa Argentina: possible line-up for Los Xeneizes

In fact, Patronato’s squad is very different from the one that won the Copa Argentina 2022 because, after Facundo Sava’s departure from coaching and with a smaller budget following their relegation, they have been set up to compete in the second tier of the Argentine Football Association (AFA). With that team they also have to compete in the Copa Libertadores 2023.

The venue chosen for the final, which will add a star to the winner’s trophy cabinet, is the modern Santiago stadium, which has been proposed as a venue for Argentina’s bid alongside Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay for the 2030 World Cup. Although the AFA’s initial objective was to play it far away from Argentina because Claudio Tapia, head of the Argentine football’s governing body, signed an agreement with his counterpart from the Sports Council of the capital of the United Arab Emirates so that between 2023 and 2026 the Argentine Super Cup would be played in Abu Dhabi.

However, since Patronato won the Copa Argentina 2022 and was relegated to the Primera Nacional, the clash against the xeneize was in doubt first and, shortly after, fell definitively. Finally, Racing and Boca met in the Middle East for the International Super Cup and the Academia won 2-1.
