Nothing CEO and former OnePlus founder shares harsh meme against the new S23 Ultra

The new Galaxy S23, S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra are the main protagonists of this week, of that there is no doubt, but the truth is that not everything is going to be goodness and happiness around Samsung’s new flagships which, by extension, are also the standard bearers of the Android catalogue at least for this first half of 2023.

Needless to say, we obviously can’t take too much stock in smartphones that have evolved to a near-perfect level, but it’s true that their dangerous resemblance to the Galaxy S22 predecessors is filling the rivers of ink and social media with memes, as you’ll now see.

In fact, even Nothing CEO Carl Pei, himself a former co-founder of OnePlus, has dared to mock the Galaxy S23 on social media using the classic shirt man meme.

The curious thing is that Carl Pei started the review with a poll on Twitter to see what his followers thought of the Galaxy S23 between “Exciting” or “Boring”, winning the second adjective with 55.5% of the more than 33,000 votes registered.

Perhaps because of this, Nothing’s CEO felt a little bit more backed up to pull out his artillery and post that meme of a man opening a package containing the exact same shirt he’s already wearing, referring to the fact that Galaxy S22 Ultra users will receive the exact same phone if they upgrade to the S23 Ultra.

Carl Pei isn’t too far wrong, so we’re not going to take away his point, although Samsung must not have liked the comparison so much, or they didn’t want to get involved, as they didn’t take advantage of the viral tweet to respond from their official accounts.

It’s true that on the outside they don’t differ much, although on the inside there is a significant advance with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen2 chipset, the 200 megapixel sensor and a larger battery, three key aspects that Samsung has tweaked in this latest iteration.

As for Nothing, we are already waiting for its more premium Phone (2) to arrive this year, presumably with a much more important redesign… Or will we have to go back in time?
