Even though it sounds impossible to track lost phones, the government has launched a website which will let you know the whereabouts of your phone, which has been stolen or lost.

The website which has been launched by the government is called the Sanchar Saathi portal (www.sancharsaathi.gov.in). However, it is important to note that in order to track your phone, you need to have your IMEI number handy. If you have lost your phone, you can get the IMEI number mentioned on your box.

In order to register your lost phone, you are required to visit Sanchar Saathi website and enter your details. You have the option of blocking your old phone, your SIM card and you can also unblock your phone if you have found it. Since the launch of the Sanchar Saathi portal, it has proven to be highly effective in identifying fraudulent connections. Over 40 lakh fraudulent connections have been detected, and more than 36 lakh such connections have already been disconnected.
